STIRLING – Opening Night for the “Kids Inclusion Art Show” now underway at the Art Gallery in the Stirling-Rawdon Public Library was an exciting night indeed. Many of the young artists were in attendance, along with parents, teachers and several members of the Stirling Rotary Club. “This entire project was enthusiastically supported by our club.” noted Stirling Rotarian, Allison Bird, “We liaised with the school to coordinate the number of student artists who might participate. We ordered the canvases and paint - all professional quality - from Monte Marte and they provided everything at cost. We then delivered all materials to the school, picked up the completed art work and installed all eighty-three paintings in the gallery at the library. And yes, there are eighty-three canvases in all.”
The young artists are all in the Grade 3-4 split at Stirling Public School and can be justifiably proud of their colourful, imaginative, eye-catching creations on canvas and presently on display at the Art Gallery in the Stirling-Rawdon Library. This is an exhibition of fine art that should not be missed. The “Kids Inclusion Art Show” runs until Tuesday June 23 and admission is free.
Stirling Rotarian, Allison Bird, had one final thought, “It was especially nice that so many of the young artists were there on Opening Night, as they were able to actually hear the rave reviews and warm reception of their work. The comments were overwhelmingly positive, glowing. We hope that this will be the first of many such shows.”
